Government-backed joint venture
set to
boost franchising in North East
Franchising in the North East of England
is set to receive a huge boost with the announcement of a unique
and enterprising joint project between Be Franchising and
domestic and commercial wheelie bin cleaning franchise VIP
Bin Cleaning. Be Franchising is a new organisation
set up by four district councils in County Durham with the
aim of encouraging more
people to think about becoming franchisees.
Backed by the government’s Local Enterprise Growth Initiative
fund, the scheme will provide those living in the area with
specialist advice and funding packages, leading to greater
investment in franchising within the region.
Franchising is recognised as one of the safest and most successful
routes into business ownership, based on following a tried
and tested format, and Be Franchising are determined to give
as many local residents as possible the opportunity of starting
their own franchise.
In order to get the project off to the best possible start
they have purchased the master licence rights for the north
east of England for VIP Bin Cleaning, a decision based on the
company’s strong reputation in franchising, developed
over the last 12 years, and its track record for success.
The VIP Bin Cleaning franchise is now firmly established in
the UK, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and most recently
the United States, cleaning more than two million bins worldwide,
every year.
In 2006 the company won the HSBC Award for Enterprise at the
British Franchise Association (bfa) Awards, and having worked
with UK Trade & Investment for less than a year, has just
been named 2008 UKTI East of England Best New Exporter of the
Year.
Paul Balmont operations director for Be Franchising, said: “Together
with VIP Bin Cleaning we believe that we have the perfect team
to launch and promote our service across the North East.”
Managing Director of VIP Bin Cleaning Mark Harvey is equally
excited about the new project. He said: “We fully endorse
the project and what Be Franchising are attempting to achieve
and we will do everything possible to make sure it is a huge
success.”
Once the VIP system is in place and fully operational, Be Franchising’s
long term plan is to work with other well known, established
UK franchisors and roll the programme out on a national basis.
